a blast from the past ( written in 1989 or 1990 ?)

one of my major loves in life is good heartbeat roots reggae music. as i developed my interest in this indescribable music, in my sojourns i one day met THE ARK BAND at a time fairly close to their initial formation. well it was instant inity, i had never heard a :local: band that sounded so good and whose music somehow moved me in no other way than any other had before this experience. the riddim section was boss, the two horns were excellent, and comprised a sista and a bredda...the whole band just struck it "right" with me. the positive music was really acceptable, strong but not fortrightly "too blatant," :-))
and there was no way for my ears to deny their music and vibes. well in summary now, and in retrospect many years later, like some of the many good things that jah gives to i&i, our relationship just developed stronger and stronger, not by any firm and fixed plan but it just developed !!!! ( and therein lies the story !!!) we even lost touch with each other for a while when THE ARK BAND went into 'temporary recess' as it were. anyway here we are almost to march 1998, i have learnt a lot about the reggae music runnings, i am still learning more and more about reggae people each and every day, and i now know a little bit more of the struggles and sacrifices and the sheer joy and inity that the ark band is all about...
WE/THE ARK BAND will never give up on jah jah music...( from our song, "na give up" from the 1995 cd, "na give up.")
