Lorain, Ohio - Station 100 monument of the Underground Railroad

Along the way, the Ark Band's odyssey continues. On Saturday June 21, we had the headlining spot at the annual Lorain International Festival.
The food offerings there were awesome, with its many nationalities present. The atmosphere was exciting and there was a unifying buzz to the attendees. Even the rain could not put a damper into the enthusiastic festival goers.

One 'discovery' was an exciting one.

The city of Lorain, Ohio is located at the mouth of the Black River that empties into one of the Great Lakes, lake Erie.

In 1807, the name of the city was Mouth of Black River. Later it was Charleston and finally Lorain in 1874.

Right close to the stage close to the Black River was located the Lorain Underground Railroad Station 100 Monument and Reflective Garden.
Actually there is the location of the Black River Landing, a lovely walk
in close proximity to the Black River.

The historic landmark pays homage to the abolitionists who risked their
lives by helping slaves escape to Canada by boat.

Give thanks to Jah for all that is given to us as the odyssey goes on.
